Does God Give Us Signs To Help Us Believe?

As an evangelist, one of my favorite things to do is speak to groups of people that are trying to figure out if Jesus is real and worth following. I love talking to people that are not of the Christian faith yet.

I recently gave a talk at UCLA to about 300 students at it was all about signs.

Does God give us signs to help us believe? It was a talk  geared for seeking people. I take a very different twist and I actually talk about the magi in Matt 2. God gives them a clear, but unexpected sign. And then they set out on a journey to find the “King of the Jews”. The Magi were not Jewish and followed a whole different set of spiritual practices. It is very interesting that God gives them such a clear sign to spark their curiosity about the Messiah coming. Can God do the same for us? Has he done the same for us?

I also weave throughout the talk a very funny story of looking for secret underground tunnels underneath China Town in San Francisco.  I promise, it all ties together!

It was an awesome night because at the end I asked people to stand up if they had received some sign from God that piqued their curiosity and they wanted to commit to seeking it out by joining a Bible Study or going on a retreat with InterVarsity designed for seekers. At least ten people stood up to say yes to the invitation.

If you want to listen on the go, you can download the talk above, or grab it in the SoundCloud app on your phone. Just search my name and grab it
